The Reconsideration of Entrepreneurship

By Rosalyn Jackson

You may have once thought about starting your own business or becoming you own boss. But like most of us, the fear of treading that road alone without any tangible certainty or security for the new entrepreneur can be quite scary. Unfortunately, in today’s economy, many employees are now forced to consider the “role of employer”, thereby moving beyond the unknown challenges that may lie ahead. Concurrently, the ‘self-employer’ must actively try to decipher the pros and cons of stepping out and taking charge of their financial situation.  It is a daunting process, or so it seems.

There is a business that resides in all of us. We can provide a service business designed to help someone who needs our expertise. Or, we can complete some other form of action that is of some necessity to the average consumer.  In essence, we are helpers of mankind; each one, reach one, teach one. Everything you have encountered, the multiple obstacles. You may have even thought to yourself, “Why Me?”  Why Not You? I say, “Congratulations!” You were chosen, because of your strength and endurance to study and pass yet another test. Now you can pass this benefit on and offer a lighter load to others.

Entrepreneurs are problem solvers. You have been a problem solver all your life. Because of your faith and your, “by any means necessary” attitude, you have gotten through many long journeys and tough roads. The bearing of the same skin is needed when stepping into the zone of entrepreneurship. You can do it, it is already done. Sometimes situations occur to push us into purpose.

If everything stayed the same, we would never have the opportunity to grow. Can you imagine being born and remaining  an infant, never experiencing the independence of  holding your own bottle, never going through the stages of sitting up by yourself,  or moving to the gratitude of crawling and the graduation of walking, and running? Challenges must be accomplished not avoided. Opportunity still lives in Detroit for the problem solvers!

Where there are challenges, there is opportunity. Supply and Demand is the general simplicity to success as a business owner. You have what it takes, and it takes what you have to make it happen. Remember, the vision you currently have is yours to accomplish and the race is already won. Success is the “ONE,” not you, that’s waiting, waiting for you to begin.   Let this thought impress itself upon your spirit:  You Are More Than a Conqueror!
