FREE Workshops Covering Critical Issues on Addiction and Recovery

The Dawn Farm Education Series has many exciting free programs ahead, and several programs covering critical topics coming soon!  February’s programs will include a workshop on “Relapse Prevention” (February 16) that may be especially helpful to people in early recovery, and a new workshop on “How To Support Recovery and Not Support Addiction” (February 23) that may be of particular interest to family members and friends. Programs scheduled for March will include a workshop on “Trauma, Chemical Use and Addiction” (March 16) by award-winning trauma expert Dr. Tana Bridge, and a workshop on “Intervention” (March 23) by best-selling authors and internationally-recognized Intervention experts Jeff and Debra Jay. Additional programs will include workshops on co-occurring addiction and psychiatric disorders, tobacco cessation, eating disorders, relationships in and out of addiction, recovery and spirituality and more!

This FREE series may be of interest to people interested in recovery, their families and friends, professionals, students and anyone in the general public who is interested in issues relating to addiction and recovery. Programs are presented by both local and internationally-known experts in their fields, and cover a variety of topics from the disease concept of chemical dependency through the recovery and family recovery processes and an assortment of related concerns.

All programs are free and are open to anyone interested. A certificate to document attendance can be provided on request. Each program provides 1.5 free CE hours approved by the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP.)

All programs will be presented at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Education Center auditorium, 5305 Elliott Drive, Ypsilanti Michigan; from 7:30 pm  to 9:00 pm on various Tuesday evenings. Please see our website: http://www.dawnfarm.org/edseries.html for a schedule and details.

Dawn Farm is a non-profit community of programs whose mission is to assist addicts and alcoholics in achieving long term recovery. Dawn Farm works to identify and remove barriers that prevent addicts and alcoholics from joining the recovering community.
