2010 NEIGHBORHOOD EXCELLENCE INITIATIVE® STUDENT LEADER PROGRAM

BANK OF AMERICA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES OPENING OF THE 2010 NEIGHBORHOOD EXCELLENCE INITIATIVE® STUDENT LEADER PROGRAM

DEADLINE FEBRUARY 17, 2010

Bank of America is looking for TOMORROW’s community leaders TODAY. We need your help to identify outstanding young people who are passionate about making a difference in our community while receiving a one-of-a-kind and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Applications are now open for students in Oakland, Wayne and Macomb Counties. There is no GPA minimum requirement and the application is a simple 8 question short essay type format. Although it is a fairly simple application, and because it is a competitive process, best applicants benefit from thoughtful and personal responses.

Since the program’s inception in 2004, Bank of America has recognized more than 1,700 Student Leaders as exemplary high school students with a passion for helping their communities. Selected Student Leaders benefit from

1) an 8 week paid summer internship at a local nonprofit organization

2) a 6 day, all-expense paid Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC

3) exposure to leadership aspects in civic, nonprofit and business arenas.

The nonprofit internship and Student Leadership Summit exposes students to leadership aspects in civic, nonprofit and business arenas. Our goal is to nurture and develop our country’s next generation of community leaders – for our neighborhoods, our cities, and beyond.

Please help us promote this program by informing young people about the opportunity. The application process which runs from January 1- February 17, 2010. To learn more about the program in its entirety, visit www.bankofamerica.com/foundation.

If you have any questions, please contact Nina Rodriguez directly at 248-631-0376, or by email at nina.rodriguez@bankofamerica.com.
